Meet Ivan & Alisa

BIOGRAPHY

We are Ivan Khudoliy and Alisa Seleznova, professional ballroom dancers, dance instructors, and coaches with over a decade of experience teaching both kids and adults of all ages, levels, and skills. We specialize in all ballroom dance styles, including International Standard, International Latin, American Smooth, and American Rhythm.

Ivan was born and raised in Sumy, Ukraine, where he started dancing at the young age of 7. His parents introduced him to dance, and his first coaches were Oleksiy and Ludmyla Medunicya, who provided him with foundational knowledge in ballroom dance. He trained with them until he was 15. In 2010, Ivan relocated to Kharkiv, Ukraine, to further his dance education under Oleg Kochniev, a renowned ballroom dance coach and the founder of "Profit Dance Club". Ivan met his current dance partner, Alisa Seleznova, in 2012.

Alisa, originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, began dancing at the age of 6 in the dance studio located at her school, where her parents signed her up. Her first coach was Viktor Kravchuk, who introduced her to the world of ballroom dance. She explored multiple dance studios in her city in search of a committed dance partner. In 2012, she settled at "Profit Dance Club", where she partnered with Ivan and continued her dance journey under Oleg Kochniev's mentorship.

In 2017, Alisa and Ivan won the Ukrainian online casting for Royal Caribbean Cruises. They were honored to serve as their premier ballroom dance couple aboard their luxurious ship Independence of the Seas. From 2017 to 2018, they had the honor of showcasing the elegance of dance to audiences from around the world.

They relocated to the US in 2018 and are currently based in Phoenix, Arizona. Here, they have been enthusiastically sharing their passion for ballroom dancing with the local community.

In 2019, they turned to the Professional division and continued their professional careers.

In August 2019, Alisa and Ivan partnered with the non-profit organization "DanceSport Education" and its founder Elka Hristova. Together, we created a dance program for kids on the Autism spectrum from 2nd to 12th grades at Arizona Autism Charter Schools. The program became an integral part of the school's curriculum, offering dance classes five days a week.

Today, Alisa and Ivan proudly represent the United States on national and international ballroom dance stages, competing in Professional Latin competitions. They have won numerous awards, including 1st place in Professional Open Latin and Professional Rising Star Latin at Summit DanceSport, 1st place in Professional Rising Star Latin at Elite DanceSport, 2nd place in Professional Rising Star Latin at the Great Gatsby Gala DanceSport Championships, and 3rd place in Professional Open Latin at the Hollywood DanceSport Championships.

Throughout their careers, Alisa and Ivan have been guided by remarkable coaches and mentors such as Nikolay Voronovich, Maria Nikolishina, Eugene Katsevman, Slavik Kryklyvyy, Karina Smirnoff, Shirley Ballas, Carmen Vincelj, Ruud Vermeij, Dekatra Lapaeva, Barbara McColl, Michael Malitowski, Maurizio Vescovo, Markus Homm, Graham Oswick, and many more, all of whom have achieved the highest levels in the professional ballroom dance industry.

We are passionate about teaching ballroom dancing and helping our students improve their skills, whether they are beginners or advanced dancers. With a focus on technique, creativity, and personal growth, we tailor our instruction to suit students of all levels and aspirations.
